Over 100 delegates gathered in York and those who attended heard Rosie Winterton MP, the new Regional Minister for Yorkshire and the Humber give her first speech in her new ministerial role along with different perspectives of the Sub-National Review (SNR) from Chris Megainey, the chief Civil Servant who oversees the implementation of the SNR and local politician Cllr Peter Box, Chair of the Yorkshire and Humber Assembly and Leader of Wakefield District Council.

 Regional Forum Policy Conference 2007
At Because We’re Worth It we explored how the voluntary and community sector (VCS) can promote equality and value diversity in its work. This final conference report highlights some of the many relevant issues and ideas discussed on the day. It also includes a digest of and signposts to some of the principal policies, strategies and structures designed to support and advance the Equalities and Diversity agendas.

 “Sector Connector” was all about discovering how the voluntary and community sector can connect together to make a difference. We wanted to explore what connections already existed and how these connections could be used to ensure that issues from the ground influenced policy.

 This Regional Forum Briefing Paper details views, ideas and discussions from a breifing session hosted by the Regional Forum and NAVCA on the subject of VCS engagement and participation in Local Area Agreements.

 On Monday 12th March 2007, NAVCA and the Regional Forum jointly hosted a briefing session on the development of standards of representation for the VCS on LSPs. These are the notes from the presentation made by Neil Cleevley, the Director of Information and Policy at NAVCA.

 Regional Forum Policy Conference 2006
The Regional Forum brought together speakers and delgates to take part in debate and look at how the voluntary and community sector can further contribute to the sustainable communities agenda. Geoff Mulgan, Director of the Young Foundation gave an inspirational speech about the future of communities.

 The Poverty Matters conference brought together practitioners, researchers and policy makers to explore the life cycle and effects of poverty, to discover the impact of policies aimed to tackle poverty, and to be inspired with ideas about how we can respond in a way that improves people's quality of life.
